Audience Risers

In August the CEC board approved the removal of the old audience risers and the construction of a larger seating area. This is just part of the changes in store for the Columbia Entertainment Company. Check back here regularly to see how these new audience risers are constructed.

The pictures are getting pretty big, so I've lowered the quality on them.
The middle supports go up.

The risers get the 2X8 beams on which the final seating area will be placed. The people "seated" on the risers are in the third row.

Below is an audience perspective as they look to their left on the riser. Of course there will be a final floor placed on top.

The risers are nearly completed! All that remains is to add the steps, the railing, paintings, florring, and lots of additional items. Ok, maybe they're not nearly completed, but they now actually look like something.

This is the view from the entry into the auditorium. The doorways will allow for extra storage below the risers.

The risers have platforms on them and are ready to hold people.

This is the same view as from August 30th. As you can see there is now a place for people to sit.

September 6, 2006

The risers are structurally completed, including steps between each row. This is how the risers looked for CEC's first show of the 2006-2007 season.

After a successful chair drive, the chairs arrive by truck. Lots of CEC folks showed up to help unload all 166 of them.
